BioQuest Academy Participation

Who Should Apply?

The BioQuest Academy has been designed to serve the educational and youth development needs of high school juniors, the vibrancy of the biomedical research sector and the innovation of our nation. With support from our donors, we use targeted recruitment and enrollment strategies so that we may welcome a cohort of students that reflects the diversity in high schools around the state. We have a number of videos available on YouTube that can give you or your child a students' perspective on why you belong at Seattle BioMed this summer!

We know that there are very few youth science immersion programs, but please only apply in the winter of 2012 if you have an interest in the life sciences or global health. If you are seeking science programs with a focus in physics, chemistry or engineering, the BioQuest Academy is not the ideal program for you: we talk about proteins, DNA and dendritic cells and will not be discussing robotics, solenoids or trebuchets this summer.

We anticipate posting applications for 2012 sessions in February 2012. If you are graduating from high school in 2013, please check back to the website at that time!
